Magdouche is more than a village to me. It’s where my roots are, where my family comes from, and where so much of what I value was shaped. My grandfather, from the Khoury family, was the mayor of the village. He was deeply connected to the land and to the people, always present, always helping, always bringing others together.
I grew up hearing stories of a place where life was simple but meaningful. The land was respected, food was grown with care, and meals were never just about eating. They were a way to bring people together, to share, to connect, and to build a sense of community.
That spirit stayed in our family. Cooking, especially through my grandmother’s kitchen, became a way to carry those traditions forward. Simple, fresh food, made with love, and always meant to be shared.
