Behind the work I do today is a journey shaped by movement, uncertainty, hard lessons, and constant growth. From working at a young age to navigating different cultures and careers, each experience has shaped how I see people, challenges, and potential. This article is about the human behind the voice. The experiences that built it, the fears that challenged it, and the purpose that continues to drive it.

Where It All Started

I was born in Lebanon during the civil war and grew up across Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Cyprus, and Canada. Moving between cultures shaped my resilience, adaptability, and deep appreciation for people and community. Experiencing uncertainty early in life also taught me the importance of support, growth, and creating opportunities for others.

Early Lessons and Work Ethic

My journey started early. At 15, I began working multiple jobs. My father believed strongly in teaching us the value of money and humility, and that mindset stayed with me.

My first job was at a fast food restaurant in Mississauga, Canada, where I worked as a busboy. I swept floors, mopped, cleaned toilets, and scrubbed grills. It wasn’t glamorous, but it built discipline and a strong work ethic that still drives me today.

Over the years, I worked across many roles. From cashier in a convenience store to line cook in an Italian restaurant, and later as a screening officer at the airport working night shifts. Each experience exposed me to different people and perspectives.

Exploring Creativity and Human Connection

At the same time, I explored my creative side through music. I developed a strong sense for rhythm and began working in major clubs in Toronto alongside well-known DJs, a path I followed for several years.

In parallel, I worked at a hair salon, starting as an assistant and eventually becoming a licensed master stylist. That experience taught me how to connect with people, understand their needs, and build trust. It also strengthened my communication, empathy, and commercial awareness.

Building a Career from the Ground Up

After graduating from York University in Business and Society, I stepped into my first corporate role at Enterprise Rent-A-Car. I still remember wearing a suit while washing cars, picking up customers, and starting my day at 6 a.m. It was demanding, but I worked my way up to Assistant Branch Manager, learning the importance of consistency, accountability, and leading from the front.

I later moved to Montreal and joined a shipping company, starting in documentation and progressing to Trade Manager. This led me to the headquarters in Marseille, where I spent five years, learned French, and completed an MBA with a focus on the maritime industry. It was one of the most enriching chapters of my life.

Growth, Leadership, and Global Experience

Seeking a new challenge, I moved to Dubai, where I spent five years growing from Senior Trade Manager to Senior Director, leading a team of 20 people. Those years played a key role in shaping my leadership style and perspective.

After that, I took time off to travel across South America and Europe. I eventually settled in Athens, where I worked with an NGO supporting asylum seekers. It was a grounding experience that brought me back to purpose and impact.

I then moved to Copenhagen, where I continue my professional career today. Over the past six years, I’ve built a strong foundation, meaningful relationships, and a life that feels balanced.

Finding My Voice

A defining turning point in my life came when I chose to face one of my biggest fears: public speaking. Through Toastmasters, I stepped outside my comfort zone and built real confidence.

What started as a personal challenge quickly became something deeper.

In a voluntary capacity, I took on leadership roles, coached and mentored members, and helped build communities focused on personal and professional growth. Supporting others is no longer just something I do. It’s part of who I am.

Giving Back and Staying Curious

I remain actively involved in volunteering and have served as a board member at Toastmasters, guiding and supporting others on their own journeys.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, writing, sailing, and traveling. Exploring new cultures continues to inspire me. I place a strong emphasis on finding the right balance in life while contributing back to society. I’m also currently learning Danish.

What I Do Today

Today, I dedicate a significant part of my time to coaching and mentoring individuals and leaders from diverse backgrounds. I help people strengthen their communication, build confidence, and unlock new possibilities.

I believe that when people are supported and challenged in the right way, they grow beyond what they thought was possible.
